Shoutout to the guy who thought zip ties could hold a whole drop cable across his driveway
I saw this last month in a suburb outside of Dallas. The homeowner had used about twenty tiny zip ties to hang a coax line from his gutter to a pole. First good rain, the whole thing sagged into the driveway like a sad hammock. It matters because that's a trip hazard and it'll wreck the cable jacket. I had to re-run it properly with a messenger strand and proper clamps. How many of you have found some truly wild DIY fixes that just made your job harder?

Come on, give the guy some credit. He used what he had on hand to get his service working. Not everyone knows about messenger strands or has the right clamps in their garage. It held until the rain, right? That’s a temporary fix that got the job done for a little while. Sometimes a DIY effort is better than waiting days for a pro.

Wait, it HELD until the rain? That means it was just dangling there in the open air? No way, that's asking for trouble.
