My steamer finally gave out after 7 years

My Solano steamer just died mid-facial yesterday in Portland. I had to finish the service with just warm towels and hope nobody noticed. Anyone else got a backup plan for when your main equipment fails?

Grab a cheap rice cooker from a thrift store and fill it with distilled water. It steams way longer than you'd think and nobody can tell the difference if you set it up right behind the counter. I've been using one for two years now after my fancy steamer broke and it actually holds more water so I don't have to refill as much. Just make sure you get one with a glass lid so you can see the steam coming out.
