Serious question, has anyone else had a client insist on a pattern that just won't work?
Honestly, this homeowner in Scottsdale last month told me to 'just make it happen' when I explained herringbone with her specific 7-inch wide plank laminate would leave tiny, unsightly cuts at every wall because the room dimensions were wrong.

Oh man, I get it! I used to just push through and try to please the client no matter what. But one job with a crazy tile pattern that just would not line up taught me a hard lesson. Now I show them the math on paper, or even lay out a small test area. If the numbers don't work, the pattern doesn't work, and forcing it always looks bad in the end.

Wait, isn't a test area still forcing it?

Totally feel you @thompson.xena, test areas are the only way to save your sanity!
