My client rate sheet looked totally different after I stopped charging by the hour

Six months ago I switched from hourly billing to fixed project rates for my web design work. Before that, I was making about $45 an hour and always felt rushed. Now my average project brings in $1200, and I can focus on quality without the clock ticking. Has anyone else made this switch and seen a jump in what clients are willing to pay?

Oh, absolutely. I made the same change last year and it was a total game changer. I was stuck at a similar hourly rate and clients would nitpick every minute. Now I charge a flat fee per website, and it's like they see the whole package as more valuable. My income went up almost right away because I could price based on the end result, not just my time.

My fixed rate clients still nickel and dime every revision.
