Rant: Our town's event site submit button has no click feedback

Everyone on my street is missing sign-up dates because the button does nothing when pressed. It doesn't change color or show a loading sign, so we think it's broken. What's a simple fix for adding clear action feedback?

Is it that same town website with the blue header? I had the exact same problem last month. I clicked that button five times thinking my computer was frozen, only to find out later I had signed up for the same community cleanup event five separate times. A simple color change or even just the cursor turning to a waiting symbol would fix everything. It's frustrating because it makes the whole town look bad.

Sometimes these small town sites run on old systems. Adding features takes time and money they might not have. Plus, clicking multiple times is on the user for not being patient.

I mean, @john_hunt2, that's so familiar. I once kept clicking on a slow parking permit page and ended up with like six temporary passes, idk what happened.
