Skipping the trailer because a critic said 'go in blind' was a bad call
I ended up watching a film I had zero interest in (and it showed). My date was not impressed, to say the least.

Man, that reminds me of the time I trusted a review that called something "a slow burn."
Sat through the most boring hour of my life before we just walked out. Sometimes you gotta trust your own gut, lol.

Ugh, "slow burn" is such a trap. My rule now is to check the audience score, not the critic blurbs. If regular people say it's boring, I skip it. Critics love calling nothing happening "atmospheric." I walked out of that artsy space movie last year after forty minutes of silent staring. Sometimes a slow burn is just bad.

Hold up, @murray.diana, I gotta disagree. A good slow burn lets the story breathe and builds real tension. You miss out on some great stuff if you bail too early.
