My uncle's old school receipt system actually works for tracking spending
I mean, at a barbecue last month, my uncle showed me how he keeps every receipt in a shoebox to review his spending. I thought it was kinda pointless, but I tried it for a couple weeks. Idk, maybe it's just me, but writing down what I bought from those receipts made me see where my cash was going. Now I cut back on dumb impulse buys because I have to face them on paper. It's a free way to get a handle on your money without any apps.

@brooken99 has a point about the setup time. How do you make it quick enough to stick with? I mean, I tried logging receipts for a week and got bogged down by small stuff like gas station snacks or that extra coffee. Did you find a way to sort receipts without it eating up your Sunday? Maybe only tracking bigger purchases or something.
