Oh totally. I read something in Wired a while back that called this "just-in-time knowledge." It's not that we know less now. It's that we don't have to carry all that info in our heads all the time. The skill is knowing how to find the right guide or app fast, and then how to follow the steps. My grandpa knew his car engine by sound. I know how to search a forum for the exact weird noise mine is making. It's a different kind of smart.
