Rant: Dark mode contrast is getting worse on too many apps I use

Squinting? Honestly just zoom in a bit.

My diagnostic tool misled me on a simple repair

Actually, see it a bit different. Those fancy screens are just another tool, not a replacement for knowing the basics. A bad reading doesn't mean the tool itself is useless, it just means you start there and then do the old school checks with your multimeter. It's all part of the same process. Blaming the diagnostic feels like getting mad at a really detailed map because you still have to look out the window for the final turn. They save a ton of time pointing you in the right direction, even if they're not perfect every single time.

When our underwater comms picked up a random radio station

Actually, I see it differently. Those random radio hits breaking through during a quiet check can be a welcome break from the monotony. Sometimes you need something to cut through the focus, @simonharris, even if it's a cheesy pop song. It reminds you the world outside the data stream is still ticking along. Sure, it's interference, but it's also a human moment in a pretty technical process. I'd take a bad top 40 song over dead silence or just static any day.

I finally fixed that spotty Wi-Fi issue at the cafe

Heard somewhere that routers hate being near microwaves. Makes sense given how often the internet dies during lunch rush. Solid detective work tracking it down.

From a train station in Italy, I learned to always lock my devices before walking away.

Seriously! This is so true everywhere now, not just trains. People get way too comfortable leaving their phones on cafe tables or laptops open in libraries. We trust strangers not to mess with our stuff, but it takes two seconds for someone to see something private or just mess up your work. I make it a habit to lock anything the second I stand up, even at home. That little bit of paranoia saves you from so much potential trouble.
