Heard a guy at a Tampa meetup say his best hire came from a 5 minute Loom video, not a resume
Was at a small agency meetup in Tampa last week and this guy who runs a 12 person shop said something that stuck with me. He said he gave up on resumes for junior roles about 8 months ago and now just asks for a short Loom of the person walking through one thing they fixed. He told me 3 of his last 4 hires came from those videos and the one who sent a polished PDF resume was the one who quit in 6 weeks. His point was that you can fake a resume but you can't fake explaining your own work out loud in 5 minutes. I ran a test on our last two openings and the video folks scored way better on the follow up task. Curious if anyone here has tried something like this for junior roles or if it's just a Tampa thing.
