The time I let a client rewrite their own website copy was a disaster
They turned 3 clear service pages into 12 pages of corporate jargon that said nothing at all, and it cost me 2 months of revisions to pull them back from that mess. Has anyone else dealt with a client who thinks they can write better than your content team?

First thing I'd say is set a clear boundary upfront next time. Tell them "I handle the writing, you handle the feedback on what the business does." Clients who want to rewrite usually don't understand how copy works - they think it's about sounding fancy instead of being clear. What I do is give them a structured feedback form with very specific questions, not a blank document where they can go wild. If they still push back, I remind them that I'm the one who has to fix the SEO and the flow after they're done. It's a pain but you gotta protect your process or they'll run all over you.

Huh, I mean I get where you're coming from but honestly sometimes letting clients write a draft actually shows you what they really want to say.
