Our little shop hit 18 clients last month and I'm scared to hire
We started this agency two years ago with just me and my business partner in a spare room. Last month we signed our 18th retainer client which is way more than we ever planned for this early. I'm doing all the account management myself and I'm starting to miss small things like following up on a couple of client emails until 3 days later. My partner thinks we should bring on someone part time but I keep worrying about cash flow if a client leaves. The weird part is our revenue is solid, right around $22k a month now, so it's not really a money problem, it's me being stubborn about giving up control. For those of you who run small shops, when did you know it was actually time to bring in help and how did you pick the right first hire?
