Pro tip: our project tracker broke the morning 3 clients were due, and one $60 fix saved us
Two Fridays ago our project tracker crashed around 9am, right when 3 client reports were due by noon. I called our software support line, and a rep named Dana walked me through exporting everything to a shared spreadsheet while the system was down. We made all 3 deadlines, and the whole fix cost about $60 for a backup tool we now run every morning at 8. Has anyone else built a backup plan for when their main tools go down at the worst time?
Wait, Dana from support actually saved the day? Most of the time those calls end with someone reading from a script and telling you to clear your cache, so hearing a rep basically built you a whole backup plan on the spot is wild. $60 is nothing compared to losing three clients, so that story almost sounds too good to be true.
