Thought splitting my team into pods of 4 would kill our agency, 6 months in and I was wrong
I read about the pod model on some agency blog back in January and pushed it through for our 12 person shop in Minneapolis, mostly because I was sick of everything routing through me. Figured it would turn into 3 little fiefdoms fighting over shared designers, but the opposite happened, the handoff time on client work dropped maybe 30% because nobody was waiting on my inbox anymore. The thing that sold me was a new hire saying she finally knew who to ask when stuck, instead of pinging the whole Slack. Curious if anyone here runs pods and how you handle the client who only wants to talk to one person?
