Vent: Burned $3,000 on a sales script training that killed our close rate
Six weeks ago I paid a high-ticket coach for a script system that was supposed to double our conversions. Instead our close rate dropped from 34% to 19% because the script sounded too robotic to prospects. My junior sales guy said clients kept asking if he was reading from a card. Has anyone else had a paid training backfire this badly or am I just unlucky with my choice of programs?

yeah that's pretty much how it goes when you keep running the same script over and over. i had a client once who kept saying i sounded like a customer service bot until i started writing out actual bullet points before calls and practicing them out loud. makes a huge difference when you slow down and let yourself sound like a real human.
