Went from hourly billing to flat project fees and the difference is night and day
I ran my little agency in Denver for about 3 years doing hourly billing and I always felt like I was fighting with clients over every 15 minute chunk. Switched to flat fees based on scope last January and my stress dropped like crazy. Now I finish a project in 6 weeks instead of dragging it out to hit hours. Has anyone else made a similar switch and seen their relationships with clients get better?

Made the exact same switch about 18 months ago and it was a game changer for my sanity (and my clients' trust in me). I started giving them a clear breakdown of what's in scope versus what's not, and I throw in one free revision round if they catch something I missed. The biggest thing was realizing I had to get really good at estimating upfront though, because one bad flat fee can eat three months of profits real quick if you're not careful.

...but then you're the one eating it when a client keeps asking for "just one more small thing" and suddenly you've worked 15 extra hours for free. I tried flat fees for six months and went back to hourly because at least then I'm getting paid for every single revision email and phone call. Isn't that kind of the whole point of running a business?
