Spent $60 on an AI voice cloner to do my D&D recaps and my players noticed the fake me in 10 seconds
I run a weekly campaign in Austin and got lazy about writing session summaries, so I fed 8 hours of old recordings into a tool I paid $60 for. The clone nailed my accent but kept saying "basically" at the start of every sentence, and my whole table caught it instantly. Anyone found a cheap tool that can actually learn how one person talks without sounding like a robot doing a bad impression?
Oh man, that is brutal. Ten seconds is rough, your table knows you too well lol. The "basically" thing probably came from how often you actually say it in those recordings, which is kinda funny when you think about it. Honestly I have not found anything cheap that really copies how one person talks, they all seem to grab onto one weird habit and repeat it forever. Maybe just lean into it and make the robot voice a running joke at your table?
