Just realized I've been crimping my RJ31X jacks wrong for like 8 years, a customer's intermittent line fault finally showed me.

Yeah the 4th and 5th pins on those jacks are easy to swap. I started using a punch-down tool for them and it fixed all my weird line issues.

I've had the opposite experience, punch-down tools can still mess up those pins if you're not careful.
