Found a hidden gem in a 1993 anime forum archive last night
I was looking up old opinions on the original Ghost in the Shell movie from 3 years ago and stumbled on a thread from 1997 where fans were arguing about the ending. One guy predicted the whole Stand Alone Complex concept a decade before it aired which blew my mind. Has anyone else dug up old forum posts that accidentally spoiled future stuff?

Ancient forums had a weird knack for predicting the future.

Only it's not really "predicting" in the way we think of it now, more like they were seriously discussing ideas that seemed crazy at the time. A lot of those old predictions were just people following through on logical next steps (like how the internet itself was already changing things back then). Time just caught up with what they were already figuring out, you know?
