Noticed older anime fans stopped recommending Berserk as a starter series around 2019

Back in 2010 everyone pushed newbies straight into the 1997 Berserk, but after the 2016 CGI adaptation flopped and the creator's passing in 2021, now I see most people suggesting Fullmetal Alchemist or Attack on Titan first instead, anyone else catch this shift in the recommendation trends?

But isn't it weird how the 2016 anime just kind of erased Berserk's starter status overnight?

Kinda like when a good show gets a bad sequel, @patricia_wright. Makes you appreciate the old stuff more.
