PSA: I switched from reading episode threads to full season threads after finishing a show
I just finished watching 'Bocchi the Rock!' and for the first time, I waited until the end to read any online talk about it. Usually, I check the episode thread right after watching each week. The difference was huge. In the weekly threads, so much talk was just guessing what happens next or small jokes from that episode. The full season thread on the show's subreddit had way more talk about the whole story, the character growth, and the music themes. It felt like a real chat about the show, not just reactions. I saw people connect things from episode 1 to the finale that I totally missed week-to-week. Now I'm thinking of doing this for every seasonal anime. Has anyone else tried holding off on discussions until a show is done? Does it change how you see the story?

Waiting for the full season thread is like saving all your dessert until after dinner. You get to enjoy the whole meal without everyone yelling about each bite. The weekly guesswork about plot twists gets old fast, especially when half the theories are nonsense. Much better to just enjoy the show and then read what people actually thought about the whole thing.

Save all your dessert until after dinner" is a good way to put it, danieljenkins. But I think there's a bigger thing people miss when they only wait for the full season thread. Weekly threads are like drinking from a fire hose. You get so many hot takes and wild guesses that you can't really think about what the show is actually trying to say. Full season threads let you see the whole picture without all the noise. Plus, you avoid getting spoiled by some random theory that turns out to be true and ruins the surprise. Have you found that waiting changes how you remember the show long after you finish it?
