The anime club at my local library in Mesa got me back into weekly watching
I went to the Mesa library two months ago just to return a book and saw a flyer for a Thursday anime club. Figured it would be all teens, but there were 14 people and half were older than me. We watched the first 3 episodes of a show I had skipped for years because everyone online told me the pacing was slow. Seeing it with a group made the slow parts fun, people kept pausing to argue about what a character meant. Now I go every week and we vote on what to watch next, which is way better than scrolling a streaming app alone for 40 minutes. Anyone else watch anime in a group instead of solo, and does it change how you feel about a show?

Man, this takes me back. I was in a horror movie group at my old library and we did the same thing, pausing to argue about endings and whether a scene was a dream or not. I had seen one of those movies alone years before and thought it was just okay, but hearing everyone's takes flipped it for me. Something about a room full of people reacting out loud makes the boring parts go by faster and the good parts hit harder.
