Can we talk about what the customer said about my repair quote?
Last Thursday I was at a house in Mesa fixing a dryer that wouldn't heat, and the customer watched me test the thermal fuse, then said "my last guy just swapped parts till it worked." I finished the job in 40 minutes with one $18 fuse, but that comment stuck with me all weekend. Made me wonder how often people think we're just guessing instead of actually testing things. Do you walk customers through your diagnosis, or just hand them the bill and let the work speak for itself?
