Had to pick between a crane and climbing for a big oak removal yesterday
I was looking at a 60-foot red oak in Austin with a 30-inch trunk that had to come down. Crane rental was going to be $1,200 for the day, so I decided to climb it instead with my trusty 200t. Took me 8 hours total and I was wiped out, but the cost savings made it worth it for my small operation. Any of you guys ever regret skipping the crane on a big job?

8 hours on a 60-foot oak in Austin heat sounds brutal!

Man, that sounds absolutely brutal. I can't even imagine being up that high for that long in the Texas sun. 60 feet is no joke, and Austin heat just makes everything ten times worse. You must have been totally wiped out by the end of the day. I really hope you had plenty of water and a good hat at least. My back hurts just reading about it.
