Rant: I used to hate pole pruners for pruning oaks
I always thought pole pruners tore up the bark too much on oak limbs. Then a guy in Dallas showed me how to angle the cut at 45 degrees with a sharp bypass blade, and it left clean wounds every time. Anyone else switch their mind on a tool after seeing someone use it right?

Man I was the exact same way. Had a buddy who swore by his pole pruner for live oaks and I thought he was crazy. Watched him clean up a 40 foot limb that was hanging over his driveway and the cuts were so smooth they almost looked like a saw did it. Realized my problem was I was using a dull blade and coming at it from a bad angle. Now I actually grab mine first for smaller branches instead of dragging out the ladder and handsaw. Changed my whole setup honestly.

You ever watch someone use one of those and just shake your head? My buddy @jake_mason30 had the same thing happen with his neighbor. Guy trimmed a whole oak limb in like 2 minutes flat, no ladder needed. Finally convinced me to try it on some low hanging branches and now I don't even bother with the handsaw for most stuff.
