My metal detector found a buried treasure... of old soda cans
I got a cheap metal detector for my birthday and took it to a field near my town's old fairgrounds. After an hour of beeping, I dug up what felt like a big metal plate. It was just a clump of about fifteen crushed soda cans from the 1990s, all stuck together with rust. I learned that 'interesting signal' doesn't always mean 'ancient artifact'. Has anyone else had a funny letdown like this while looking for old stuff?
