A sound guy in Flagstaff said my lav mics were picking up the AC hum, and it saved my whole shoot
I was setting up for a 3 camera interview in a hotel conference room off Route 66 last month and felt pretty good about the look. Then the audio tech leaned in and pointed at the ceiling vent about 6 feet from where our subject sat. He said "that's not quiet, that's just low." We moved the whole setup to a corner room with carpet and no vent overhead, and the difference in the raw files was night and day. Now I always walk the room with headphones on before I even unload gear, has anyone else had a spot that sounded fine until you actually listened?
