My camera overheated 22 minutes into a July wedding shoot in Tucson
I was filming a wedding at a venue out near Gates Pass in Tucson back on July 12th, and my main camera overheated and shut off right in the middle of the vows. It was 109 degrees out, and I had been running it on a tripod in direct sun for about 22 minutes with no shade cover. I panicked, grabbed my backup body from the car, and somehow still got the kiss shot, but I missed a solid 90 seconds of the ceremony. Now I throw a white towel over the camera between takes and bring a small battery fan, and I have not had a shutdown since. Has anyone here found a cooling setup that actually works for full day outdoor shoots in the summer, or do you just schedule everything as early as possible?
