Switched from manual color scouting to a Sekonic meter on hikes, no more guessing in the desert
For 5 years I'd walk Sedona trails at sunrise with my camera, eyeballing exposure and tweaking in post. Last month I rented a Sekonic for a client shoot near Antelope Canyon and it completely changed how I scout. Way less time fixing shadows at the office, more time actually shooting. The meter costs about $250 to own, and I'm debating if it pays for itself with the time saved. Anyone else ditch the eyeball method for a meter on outdoor shoots?
