Update: I used to ask my team for updates in person, now I just check the shared board.
For years, I'd walk the warehouse floor every afternoon to ask each person what they finished, which took about 45 minutes. After we set up a simple digital board in Trello last spring, I stopped the walks cold. Do you think you lose something by moving updates from a chat to a checklist?

What happens when someone's stuck on a task but is too embarrassed to put it on the board? The chat gave you a chance to see their face and maybe spot a problem they wouldn't type out.

Used to think remote work solved everything until my team missed a deadline because someone was too shy to flag a blocker. Seeing faces on video calls lets you catch those quiet "I'm stuck" moments that never make it to the board. Changed my whole view on needing some visual connection.
