Spent $120 on a motorized star tracker, biggest regret of my astrophotography hobby

Picked up a used iOptron SkyGuider Pro off Craigslist last spring thinking it would get me clean 5 minute exposures. First night out, it struggled to hold my DSLR and 200mm lens steady. Ended up with blurry star trails on half my shots. I should have just saved for a proper German equatorial mount from the start. Has anyone else had better luck with those little portable trackers?

Bet a cheap fluid head would've saved that shot.
