That time a Subaru hood took me 4 hours longer than it should have

I had a 2017 Outback hood last Tuesday with hail damage, figured 3 hours tops for the block and paint. Ended up spending 7 hours because the aluminum had this weird work hardening near the center brace I've never seen before. Anyone else run into unexpected metal behavior that just blew up your time estimate?
