Update: My mechanic in Reno told me to stop topping off my coolant every 2 weeks, and he was right
I had been adding coolant to my truck every 10 days or so for almost a year, just figured it was normal for an old rig with 190,000 miles on it. My guy Dale in Reno finally asked me why I was doing it and said a healthy system should barely drop at all, so we pressure tested it and found a pinhole leak in a hose clamp that cost me $14 to fix. Three months in and the level has not moved once, which makes me wonder how much I spent on coolant over the years. What is something you were doing so often you stopped questioning it?

Man, I feel this in my soul. I drove around for two years topping off my washer fluid like twice a month because I swore it was just "evaporating" in the summer heat. Turns out the little hose had a crack and it was dripping onto the ground the whole time. I must have gone through twenty bottles of that blue stuff before I finally crawled under there and saw it. My buddy still brings it up at every BBQ like I solved world hunger. At least your fix only cost fourteen bucks, mine was like forty cents of tape and a whole lot of shame.
