Finally fixed a 15-year-old Honda Civic AC in my driveway this afternoon

I picked up this 2008 Civic for cheap last summer knowing the AC was dead. Tried recharging it back in June but the compressor clutch never kicked in. Turns out it was just a 50 cent relay under the hood. Plugged the new one in, fired it up, and ice cold air came out after 3 years of sweating through summer drives. Has anyone else had a simple electrical fix save them from a huge shop bill?

Nice little win there. Those electrical gremlins can be a pain but when it's just a relay or a fuse it feels like you cheated the system. Had a similar thing with a blower motor resistor on an old Accord once, thirty bucks and twenty minutes of my life.

Honestly @king.dakota that blower motor story is exactly what changed my mind for me. I used to think electrical stuff was always going to be a nightmare but now I just check the cheap stuff first.
