Vent: That time my new tester lied about a circuit
I was all in on digital multimeters for avionics checks. Then one misread a live wire and almost caused a bigger issue, so I switched back to my old analog unit. Who else has been burned by gear they thought was better?
That whole "gear they thought was better" thing hits home. Saw some contractors using these fancy new non-contact voltage testers last year. Real pricey looking. Watched one blink green on a live conduit, guy almost got lit up. Turns out the brand had a whole batch of bad sensors. Makes you trust your old twist-and-shout solenoid tester a lot more.
