Always thought gas mowers were better until I tried a corded electric one from a buddy

I've been using a gas push mower for like 7 years on my little quarter acre lot in Phoenix. Never even considered electric because I figured they'd be weak and annoying with the cord. Then my neighbor Dave let me borrow his corded electric one last month when my gas mower wouldn't start. I was skeptical but man, that thing started instantly every time, no gas smell, no pulling a cord 15 times. It's way lighter too so I could actually finish the yard without my arms feeling like noodles. The only downside is the cord management but I just do a loop pattern and it's fine. I think I'm finally gonna switch when my gas one dies. Has anyone else here made the switch and regretted it or is this pretty much the consensus now?

Ha, welcome to the club buddy. I ran a gas mower for years and felt like a tough guy every time I had to yank the cord until my shoulder popped. Then I used a corded electric and realized I was just making my life harder for no reason. Cord management is a minor hassle but way better than messing with gas cans or spark plugs. You're right, once you go electric you don't go back.

My back agrees with you there. Electric mowers are just easier.
