That cheap spray foam can I picked up at the hardware store in Tucson actually worked way better than I thought
I was super skeptical about it holding up in the summer heat out here, but it sealed a gap around my garage door frame and it's been solid for 3 months now. Anybody tried it for bigger projects or does it just fall apart eventually?

Dude that's awesome lol. I used a similar cheap can from the hardware store to seal some cracks around my window ac unit here in Phoenix and it's held up through two summers now without any issues. I was worried it would get brittle and crack from the heat but it's still flexible when I poke at it. I did try using it for a bigger gap around my patio door frame though and it started to sag after a few months, so I think it's best for smaller fixes. For bigger stuff you probably need the professional grade stuff that comes in the big tank with the gun attachment. But honestly for the price you can't beat it for little jobs like what you did.

Haha @wyatt_fox68, you're braver than me trying that on a patio door. I tried a cheap can on a gap around my bathroom vent and it looked great for about a week, then started peeling off like old sunburn. I guess some things are just meant for small cracks and not "whoops I left a gap the size of a pencil" jobs. But yeah, for little fixes like your window AC, those spray cans are a steal. Just gotta know when to step up to the big boy stuff.
