Just realized I spent 400 hours on soundproofing alone in my backyard studio

I hit 400 hours of labor just on the soundproofing for my 10x12 shed conversion, and now I'm wondering if it was really worth it. On one hand, I can crank my monitors at midnight without complaints from the neighbors, but on the other hand, I could have bought better gear with that time and effort. Has anyone else tracked their hours and regretted how many went into one specific part of the build?

Bet arguing that, 400 hours of your time is worth way more than some peace and quiet.

Had a buddy who spent almost a year renovating his kitchen himself to save money. Ended up with a crooked countertop, a leaky sink, and a giant hole in the drywall that he patched like six times. His wife finally made him call a pro who fixed everything in a week and charged him less than what he wasted on extra materials. He still jokes that those 400 hours just bought him a permanent reminder to never touch a power tool again.
