Update: my backyard studio sounds like trash and it is not the gear, it is the 8x10 shed
Everyone keeps saying foam panels fix a small room but my 8x10 shed in Portland still had a muddy low end until I moved my desk 14 inches off the back wall. Has anyone else here found that placement beat treatment for them, or am I just lucky?

How far did you actually move it, just the 14 inches or did you try other spots first? Curious if you tested it by ear or measured the room somehow. I'm in a similar sized space and wondering if I should mess with my setup before buying anything.
