The $40 shower head that needs a map to use

I bought this fancy rain shower head last month thinking it would be nice. It has six different spray settings, which sounds great. The problem is the single control dial has tiny, unmarked symbols you have to turn through in a specific order. I got blasted with ice cold water three mornings in a row trying to find the normal setting. My wife just calls it 'the puzzle' now. Has anyone else found a simple shower head that doesn't need a user manual?

Feel your pain, my shower has more settings than my car radio. Spent a week getting stabbed by needle spray before I found the gentle one. Sometimes you just want water to fall down, not solve a riddle. I ended up drawing the symbols on the wall with a marker.

Tell me about it, my last apartment had a shower head that looked like it belonged on a spaceship. I got blasted with what felt like power washer spray every morning for a month because I kept hitting the wrong button. Why do they need eight different spray patterns when all anyone wants is a normal shower? I finally took a picture of the settings with my phone and taped it to the bathroom mirror. Who designs these things, someone who hates mornings?

That picture idea from @oscar754 is genius. These designers must test them in a lab, not a real bathroom where you're half asleep. A simple on-off switch would save everyone a lot of trouble.
