inI finally saw a house in Austin with a black metal roof
Yeah, that "can't touch it" surface temp is the real issue for me. Everyone talks about inside temps, but what about the heat just blasting off into the yard? My buddy has one and his plants near that wall got fried, even with regular watering. That extra radiant heat changes the whole microclimate right around your house.

inBought a $300 laser alignment tool for hoistway rails and it was a total game changer
Sure, string gets the job done. But after dealing with a snapped line at the worst time, switching to a braided leader was a game changer for me. It just handles abrasion so much better around rocks and wood. The stuff is nearly invisible in the water too. You don't realize how much old mono can spook fish until you try the thinner braid.

inHandling noise complaints after tire changes

inBack when I started, we'd always cut crown flat against the fence. My buddy in Tampa showed me how to set the miter to the spring angle and cut it nested, and the joints just clicked.
Totally agree! Coping is the only way to get a clean inside corner on old walls. It saves you from so much filler and frustration later.
