The gas station sign in Amarillo made me redo my entire color scheme

I drove past this faded orange and purple logo on Route 66 last Tuesday and realized my own brand colors clash worse than that mess, so now I'm stuck trying to pick a palette that doesn't look like a bruised fruit, has anyone else had a random road sign wreck their whole design plan?
