Am I the only one who thinks low battery pop ups are a total design failure?
I was at the laundromat on 5th Street last Tuesday when my phone buzzed with that little 20% warning, and my friend said something that stuck with me: 'Why does it yell at me but never tell me what's actually eating my battery?' I see both sides here. One view is that a quick pop up is a helpful nudge so you do not get stranded. The other view is that it is lazy design because it interrupts whatever you are doing and gives you zero useful info like which app is draining the most. So should apps just stay quiet and let the system handle it, or should they show a real breakdown right in the pop up? What would actually fix this for you?
Wait, people actually want the pop up to stay? I used to get so annoyed by those warnings and thought they were pointless, but then my phone died at a concert last month and I missed my ride home. Now I kind of get it, though showing which app is killing the battery would make it way more useful.
