So I was at a library talk in Denver and someone asked a question that totally flipped my process

People really need a workshop on how to ask a question now? That seems like a lot of fuss over something pretty basic. Doesn't everyone just figure it out as they go?

TIL my morning routine was wasting 20 minutes a day for 18 months

I read that people who do a quick 5 minute tidy before bed save way more time in the morning than they think, so I tried it. Now I empty the dishwasher and set out my clothes the night before, and it shaves off a good 15 minutes of stumbling around half asleep. Your mileage may vary but I swear by that little swap.

Wasted $200 on a premium template bundle and regretted it instantly

Have you ever considered that maybe the high price includes support and updates over time, not just the files themselves? I know it sounds steep, but some template makers offer custom help if something breaks. And to be fair, not every color change is simple - if the template uses complex layers or smart objects, it can get messy quick. I've had cheap templates that fell apart too, so paying more doesn't always mean you get junk, it just means you expected a different level of polish. I get being mad about the money, but calling it a total scam feels a bit harsh.

Told to stop using drop shadows and it backfired hard

I've got a buddy who runs a small e-commerce shop and he went full flat design on his site last year. His bounce rate shot up like 40% because people couldn't tell what was clickable anymore, especially on product images. He had to go back and add subtle shadows and hover effects before his sales recovered. It's wild how something that looks clean can totally tank your usability.

A senior dev told me my buttons had no breathing room and it totally clicked

Actually spacing like that can make a layout feel empty and disconnected if you overdo it.
