My meditation app started playing ads mid-session and I'm torn
I use a meditation app to relax, but lately it puts ads in the middle of guided sessions. This feels wrong because the app is supposed to help me chill, not add more noise. Is it okay for apps to do this just because they're free?

Remember this podcast about baking I tried, the host's calm voice just gets wrecked by some loud mattress ad right as she's explaining sourdough folds. Totally throws me off while I'm driving. Feels extra wrong when the thing you're listening to is supposed to be about focus or calm.

Honestly kind of like the jarring switch sometimes. That loud ad shock snaps me back if my mind was wandering off the recipe.

My friend Sam had this happen with his meditation podcast. Right after the host says to focus on your breathing, some crazy loud ad for energy drinks blasts through. Sam said it made him jump in his seat. Total mood killer when you're trying to chill. The ad was for the exact opposite feeling.
