TIL my bank app's 'quick transfer' button sits right where my thumb naturally lands

Was paying rent last Thursday and my thumb hit the 'send to recent contact' button instead of the 'enter amount' field. Sent $1200 to my buddy Mark by accident. He's a good guy and sent it back right away, but still. I called the bank and they said they can't move the button because it's 'part of the standard layout.' Why would you put a one-tap send button right where people rest their thumbs? Has anyone found a workaround for this or do I just have to hold my phone different now?

Not gonna lie, that's a straight up design flaw on their part. You'd think there'd be a confirmation step for quick transfers over a certain dollar amount, like a popup asking "You sure you wanna send $1200?" just to catch fat-finger mistakes. Might be worth checking if your phone has a touch sensitivity setting you can dial down a notch - that could help with accidental taps in general, not just this one button.

Yeah it's like every app these days assumes you meant what you tapped, no room for a simple oops moment.
