Burned my first batch of croissants after a neighbor stopped by to chat

I was halfway through laminating dough last Tuesday when my neighbor Linda knocked on the door asking about my compost bin. I got distracted for like 10 minutes and came back to butter melting everywhere, ruining the layers. Has anyone else had a baking disaster caused by an unexpected visitor?

Honestly, burnt croissants aren't the end of the world.

Oh man, that sucks! Totally been there. Last month my sister showed up unannounced while I was trying to fold butter into my dough, and I completely spaced on the resting time. Ended up with sad, greasy blobs instead of croissants. @kai779 is right though, burnt croissants hurt but at least you can try again tomorrow.
