Hot take: I thought beard oil was just overpriced snake oil until my barber in Tulsa proved me wrong
I'd been telling guys for years that regular lotion does the same thing, but he had me feel the difference on a patch of his beard versus mine after two months of jojoba oil at $14 a bottle. My skin under the beard was way less flaky and the hair actually laid flatter, so now I keep a small bottle on the station. Any of you got a cheap oil brand that doesn't smell like a candle store?

Yeah the difference is real, my barber did the same thing with a patch test and I was sold. I've had good luck with plain jojoba from Trader Joe's, like $8, and it doesn't smell like anything. Just make sure you're not using too much or your beard looks greasy all day.
