A customer brought in a 1983 Peugeot with the original sew-up tires still glued on.

It took me, a heat gun, and a whole can of solvent over three hours to get the rear one off without damaging the carbon rim, so what's your most stubborn tire removal story?

Read about a guy who had a tire fuse to the rim after sitting in a barn for 40 years. He ended up cutting the tire off in pieces with a hacksaw.

Barn finds are brutal sometimes. That rubber basically turns into rock after that long. A hacksaw sounds like a full day of misery.

Cut the tire off in pieces with a hacksaw? That sounds like a full day of pure misery. I've had some tires put up a fight but nothing like having to saw through rubber and wire bead by hand. The fact that he didnt just trash the wheel says a lot about how much that rim meant to him. Three hours with a heat gun and solvent is rough but a hacksaw is a whole different level of stubborn. I would have probably just lit the whole thing on fire and walked away.
