Just read that a single mature oak tree can host over 500 different insect species

Imagine a bug census taker going door to door on a tree. "Excuse me sir, are you just passing through for the buffet or do you actually live here?" Ridiculous. Probably counts both just to drive the number up.

Heard a pilot at the diner say he never worries about the same issue twice

Man you know what, I used to totally think the same way! I'd see the same squawk come back and just roll my eyes thinking the pilot was just guessing wrong. But then I watched a crew chase an APU fault for two weeks straight, kept swapping sensors and controllers, and it turned out to be a chafed wire harness hidden behind a bundle. The pilot was writing up the exact same message every shift, and we were blaming him instead of looking past the easy fix. That one changed my whole view on repeat squawks for sure.

Just found a hidden CSS Grid layout trick that saved my footer

Wait which browser broke your subgrid test last year?

Three years ago I asked my grandpa about his old toolbox and got a whole different answer than I expected

That note probably means something personal to his dad... crazy to find it after all these years. Could be a message, a memory, or even a secret he never got to share. Makes you wonder what other old stuff has hidden stories inside them.

That moment you realize everyone cuts door jambs wrong

Nah, gotta disagree here. Cutting after the carpet is tucked in is the standard way most crews I've seen do it. Keeps you from guessing where the pile height will sit. I've seen more botched jambs from guys cutting too high before carpet and having a gap than from blade marks. Those marks get covered by the base shoe anyway if the floors are done right.
